How it works

Most of the information you have learned about head, neck or facial pain is actually NOT TRUE. With this page, you’ll have a better understanding about the connection between your teeth and the muscles in your head, neck and face. You can use the links above to easily jump to sections that you are most curious about or feel free to scroll.

Real Facts You Should Know

Did you know?! There is more Jaw muscles wrap around the entire head. Continuous muscle activity will overwork the muscles and cause pain. Here are 6 more Facts to help you understand a little bit about how your teeth, jaw neck and head muscles are all connected.

1

Over 75% of head, neck or facial pain is triggered by muscles due to excessive teeth clenching or grinding.

2

You cannot swallow unless you get your teeth to mesh together. Swallowing happens thousands of times day and night.

3

Swallowing should only take a couple muscles. When your teeth don’t fit, it causes dozens of extra muscles to move the jaw so the teeth can fit.

4

Teeth are hard and cannot not self correct so all it does is wear down or break the teeth and then the overwork muscles cause head, neck and/or facial pain.

5

Teeth clenching and grinding is NOT due to stress. It is due to an unconscious, but well intended effort to get your teeth to fit

6

Stress of any kind makes you more irritable and less tolerant of the uneven bite causing more teeth clenching or grinding that is already there which leads to more pain.

Everyday Activities That Cause Pain When Overdoing It.

Try these DIY tests right now at home and see how overworked muscles triggers pain/discomfort:

TEST 1 | Walk with one shoe on and one shoe off.

There is an imbalance when walking which could cause discomfort in your legs and other parts of your body, including, but not limiting to your hips, knees, feet and even your back.

TEST 2 | Hold your hands in the air

Hold arms out holding items with weight (rolls of toilet paper will do) and in a very short time there will be muscle pain and fatigue that stops as soon as you put your arms down

TEST 3 | Put your hands on the side of the face while teeth open and clench

You can feel the muscles wrap around the head and side of the face. When clenching teeth you can feel the muscles.

How an uneven bite can cause headaches:

The illustrations below shows what happens when you have a correct bite verses when your bite is uneven. In step 4 shows how Dr. Simon’s FDA Approved Bite Discluder tests if the cause of your pain is an uneven bite. He will further explain this during your consult.

1

Correct bite: jaws are centered and teeth fit.

2

Uneven bite: To make the teeth fit, the jaw stretches causing it to pop out of it's socket.

3

The jaws are constantly shifting for teeth to fit which causes the muscle spasms and pain (headaches).

4

Dr. Simon's Discluder guides teeth to let jaws center so the muscles can relax and the pain stops.

It's Time To Finally Get Answers To
Your Questions!

In order to solve any problem, correct diagnosis is the start. There is literally no real test for most headaches. Even migraine headaches don’t have a true medical test. So Dr. Simon invented, patented and received FDA acceptance for his Best-Bite Discluder to temporarily prevent the teeth in an uneven bite from throwing the jaw off to allow the muscles to turn off.

If the pain stops in minutes, we know the cause of the pain is due to an uneven bite and we know that fixing the bite will stop the pain
